Anthology Update: Out of Order
Eposic’s second speculative fiction anthology, Out of Order, has been delayed due to my recent health issues. I am finally feeling more like my old self again (old not meant to be the operative word here!), and am pressing forward with the remaining tasks for OoO. However, because of the delays due to my being in the hospital and otherwise dealing with a few unsavory medical conditions, the release date for OoO is now being pushed back to early 2010.
I am finishing up the editing of the stories now. I’ll be ready to discuss illustrations and cover art soon. I’ve had a few artists inquire about doing art for Eposic, and some of them inquired so long ago, they’ve probably forgotten about us by now. But I’ve most recently been in communication with Mari Volmar over at Simari. With fewer than a dozen stories in the anthology in total, there won’t be a lot of illustrations for OoO, so I may just let them do them all if they have time. And I’d love to have the cover art done by Simon Tranter. In another week or two I should be ready to discuss the cover art needs with them, and we’ll see how it goes.
Out of Order will only be about half the size of Eposic’s first anthology, The Book of Exodi. This will help keep down the price of OoO, to make it more affordable for the reading public. This also unfortunately means that I turned away some good stories. But I am excited about the stories that I chose for OoO, and anyone that loves time travel or alternate reality stories will love this tome. I’m eager for it to be released, but as always, quality comes first at Eposic, and so it is with Out of Order.
I’ll keep you posted as progress continues on the anthology. We will be looking to send out a good number of advance review copies as soon as possible, and if you’d like us to send some to your favorite book reviewers, let me know their contact info.
